For Vendors

Military MarketWatch is an independent, privately owned company specializing in data-driven retail sales analysis for vendors who sell products through the Army & Force Exchange Service (AAFES). 

 

Our reports, which cover each calendar month, are published by the 10th of the following month and are sent exclusively to our clients on a subscription basis.

Our Reports

These reports are based on raw data we procure from AAFES Headquarters (Dallas, TX) in the form of TERADATA summaries, which total point-of-purchase transactions by AAFES Item Number for each exchange region worldwide. Working with this raw data, we identify the products behind the Item Numbers, group them into categories, tabulate their sales histories, rank them by item and by brand within each category, and calculate year-to-date and year-on-year sales comparisons. We then format the results into separate workbooks for America, Europe and the Pacific, and e-mail the finished reports to our subscribers.

Subscribe

We currently publish monthly reports covering sales in 26 different consumer-electronics categories, from personal computers and video cameras to TVs and headphones. The merchandise categories we monitor are determined by the interests of our clients, and we are always happy to entertain proposals for new categories.

Our work is an outgrowth of reporting started in 1974 by the late Walter B. Rios, publisher of OFF DUTY, a monthly consumer magazine published from 1970 to 2000 for the U.S. Armed Forces around the world. At the height of its circulation in the late 1980s, OFF DUTY was by far the largest publication of any kind for the U.S. military market in history, with over 710,000 copies monthly.
